Shyam Steel Group has inaugurated its first international manufacturing facility at the Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah, UAE, established through its subsidiary Shyam Middle East FZC with an initial investment of AED 60 million.
The facility has an annual production capacity of 24,000 tonnes of aluminium alloys and 6,000 tonnes of copper alloys, focused on non-ferrous metal recycling and alloy production. It will serve markets across the Middle East, GCC countries, Africa, Asia and Europe. The company aims to grow its direct workforce to approximately 100 employees while creating additional indirect jobs.
Hamriyah Free Zone Authority Director Saud Salim Al Mazrouei said the investment reflects Sharjah’s growing attractiveness as a global manufacturing hub and supports the UAE’s National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology under Operation 300bn and the Make it in the Emirates initiative.
Shyam Middle East FZC Director Siddharth Beriwal said the Hamriyah Free Zone was selected for its strategic location, advanced industrial infrastructure, port connectivity and access to global logistics networks. He added that the company aims to become a regional hub for non-ferrous metal recycling and advanced manufacturing, producing internationally certified aluminium and copper alloys for the automotive, electrical, aluminium extrusion, foundry, engineering and conductor industries.
The company also plans to obtain international quality certifications including IATF 16949 and invest in advanced manufacturing technologies to strengthen its regional and global market position.
