Awarded on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis, the project forms part of the third and fourth line expansion works on the Bhadrak–Vizianagaram route. According to the company, the contract is valued at ₹967.93 crore, including GST, and is scheduled for completion within 1,095 days.
The project is expected to improve passenger and freight movement by reducing congestion, increasing operational efficiency and strengthening freight handling capacity across Odisha and eastern India. The use of steel girder bridge technology is also expected to support long-term infrastructure durability.
RVNL stated that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity, involves no related-party transactions and falls within the company’s regular business operations.
The latest order adds to RVNL’s infrastructure project portfolio, which includes railway, metro and transportation projects across India.
