100-Metre Steel Foot-Over-Bridge Connects Mumbai Metro 3 with Airport Terminal

A new 100-metre-long steel footover-bridge (FOB) has been inaugurated in Mumbai, providing a direct link between the upcoming Metro Line 3 station and Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Rising 23 metres above ground, the bridge has been constructed using structural steel to ensure both durability and speed of execution.

The FOB is designed to improve passenger convenience, particularly for air travellers carrying luggage. Prior to its construction, commuters faced a 450-metre walk to reach the airport terminal. With the new bridge, this distance has been reduced to just 118 metres, significantly cutting travel time and enhancing ease of movement.

The structure integrates modern design elements with high-strength steel, offering a safe and efficient transit solution in one of the busiest transport corridors of Mumbai. Its elevated construction ensures seamless connectivity between metro services and airport facilities without disrupting existing road traffic below.

Authorities highlight that the new link will not only benefit passengers but also contribute to the wider urban mobility network.
