NHPC is advancing its renewable energy initiatives with a call for tenders to develop 39.73 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects in Sikkim and Jammu & Kashmir. In Sikkim, 5.06 MW of capacity is designated for installation on government buildings across various districts, with bid submissions due by February 24, 2025. The project sizes range from 270 kW to 1,790 kW.

In Jammu & Kashmir, a larger capacity of 34.67 MW will be managed by the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) for installation on government department buildings. Bids for these projects are due by February 21, 2025.

Interested bidders must demonstrate experience in installing at least 400 kW of grid-connected solar systems and meet financial criteria, including turnover and net worth requirements. The projects, implemented under the RESCO model, are to be commissioned within nine months of signing power purchase agreements, contributing significantly to NHPC’s renewable energy goals.
