The Indora Square Metro Station in Nagpur is nearing its much-anticipated launch following a critical safety inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), Janak Kumar Garg. The inspection assessed compliance with safety standards, and a detailed report outlining any necessary changes is expected shortly. MahaMetro officials have confirmed that the station will become operational soon.
Part of Nagpur Metro’s Phase-1, the Indora Square station faced significant delays due to prolonged land acquisition issues. While the rest of Phase-1 began operations in December 2022, land acquisition for Indora Square, initiated in 2016, was only finalised in October 2022. Construction began in November 2022, and the station is now ready to serve commuters on the Orange Line’s North-South corridor.
Once inaugurated, the station is expected to significantly improve accessibility for thousands of daily commuters, enhancing the efficiency of Nagpur’s metro network and easing traffic congestion in the area. Final preparations are underway to ensure the station meets all safety and operational standards ahead of its opening.
