Rangamati Enterprise has been awarded a four-and-a-half-month contract by the West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDCL) for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 10 MW ground-mounted solar power project at the Sagardighi thermal power plant in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Valued at approximately Rs 1.98 million (~$23,540), the contract outlines Rangamati’s responsibility for monitoring, maintaining, and ensuring the smooth operation of the solar installation. The company must also manage administrative tasks and complete all documentation required for the project’s successful operation.
The contract specifies that subcontracting is not permitted, meaning Rangamati Enterprise must handle all aspects of the O&M work directly. Delays in task completion or material supply will result in penalties, with WBPDCL reserving the right to recover 0.5% of the delayed work’s value per week, up to a maximum of 10% of the total contract value. This ensures strict adherence to timelines and quality standards during the project’s execution.
WBPDCL’s Sagardighi plant hosts several renewable energy initiatives, including the 10 MW ground-mounted solar project, a 3.511 MW rooftop solar system, and a 5 MW floating solar project. The corporation is also expanding its solar energy footprint, with two additional 10 MW floating solar projects under development at raw water ponds. Additionally, WBPDCL has recently awarded a 22.5 MW floating solar project to Universal Transformers and is seeking bids for a 10 MW solar project along the Teesta Canal bank, furthering its commitment to renewable energy.
