A new terminal at Cherlapalli, Hyderabad, is nearing completion and is expected to open this month. Constructed at a cost of ₹430 crores, it features modern amenities comparable to those found in airports, promising to greatly enhance the passenger experience.

The terminal will include six booking counters to ensure smooth ticketing even during peak times. Additionally, it will have four high-level platforms and extensive concourse areas. The existing five platforms will be extended to accommodate full-length trains.

To facilitate easy movement between platforms, the terminal will include two foot overbridges (FOBs)—one 12 meters wide and the other six meters wide.

Other important details about this rail terminal include the installation of escalators and elevators on all nine platforms to ensure optimal mobility. For trains originating from the Cherlapalli Rail Terminal, there will be coach maintenance facilities.

The architectural design of the terminal is modern and aesthetically pleasing, offering separate waiting areas for men and women. Upper-class travelers will have a dedicated waiting area, and there will be an executive lounge for those seeking a more luxurious experience.
