Karnataka is actively working to attract investments in the pharma and healthcare sectors through its flagship Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2025, branded as Invest Karnataka. Scheduled from February 12 to 14 in Bengaluru, the summit will focus on sector-specific industrial parks to drive economic development across the state. Among the key initiatives is the Advanced Pharma Park in Srinivasapura, Kolar district, which aims to leverage Karnataka’s strengths in pharmaceutical innovation and global partnerships. This initiative aligns with the state’s vision of becoming a leader in biotech, pharma, and healthcare industries.
Beyond the pharma park, Karnataka is setting up other industry-focused zones, including a Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant and a Food Park in Vijayapura, a Drone Park in Chitradurga, a Deep-Tech Park at Jangamanakote, a Mega Logistics Park near Dabaspete, and EV clusters in Chikkaballapura and Dharwad. Another major initiative, the Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation (KWIN) City, spanning 2,000 acres between Doddaballapur and Doddapete, aims to enhance life sciences education and industry collaborations. The government has also been fostering partnerships with global universities, such as the University of Liverpool, to strengthen academia-industry ties.
Invest Karnataka 2025 is expected to be one of Asia’s most influential investment summits, featuring over 75 keynote speakers, 25 technical sessions, and discussions with 19+ country partners. The event will explore global economic trends, supply chain strategies, and advancements in AI, cybersecurity, and healthcare. Exclusive roundtables will focus on renewable energy, university collaborations, and the future of healthcare innovation, reinforcing Karnataka’s role in shaping key global industries.
The announcement of the Advanced Pharma Park has surprised many in the state’s pharma industry, given that a bulk drug park was previously planned in Yadgir with central assistance of Rs 100 crore. Additionally, a pharma park under the MSME scheme was proposed in Nagamangala, Mandya district. While some industry experts are optimistic about the new development, others are eager to see how the government will align its various pharma initiatives to ensure balanced industrial growth across Karnataka.
