The Public Works Department has been pushed by Pushkar Singh Dhami to complete the Shiv Mandir bridge on Mussoorie Road on time, emphasising that it is essential for the daily commuters and tourists.
The Chief Minister inspected the site of the damaged bridge due to the rain and ordered the officials to speed up the construction of the bridge so as to cause minimal inconvenience. He observed that the road is an essential connection between Dehradun and Mussoorie and has experienced heavy traffic all round the year.
Officials reported that a temporary Bailey bridge is being built at a quick pace in order to restore connectivity, with one side likely to be operational soon. Dhami further indicated that the construction of a permanent bridge at the site is also being given a priority, with the planned completion time being two-three months.
Continuing on the bigger infrastructure projects, the Chief Minister reported that the state government is working on the enhancement of the road and bridge network, especially to enhance accessibility in the remote regions.
Considering the upcoming pilgrimages, i.e. the Char Dham Yatra and Adi Kailash Yatra, he instructed all the departments to ensure that they had the necessary infrastructure finished in time to facilitate smooth travel. The officials are also requested to be vigilant on the project’s progress.
