Hubballi Flyover Works Put on Fast Track with Strict Deadline

As authorities push to expedite the long-delayed flyover project near Chennamma Circle in Hubballi. The district administration has now fixed a strict completion timeline of four to six months, Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Snehal R. said on Thursday.

The Deputy Commissioner inspected the ongoing works at Chennamma Circle and Hosur Circle along with the local MLA to evaluate construction progress. Addressing reporters after the visit, she stated that the administration is maintaining close oversight to ensure timely execution and adherence to quality standards.

Officials noted that certain sections near Chennamma Circle and Hosur Road are still pending, but measures are being taken to speed up completion. A coordination meeting has been scheduled next week to address bottlenecks and improve inter-departmental coordination.

Acknowledging the challenges of executing infrastructure projects within dense urban areas, the Deputy Commissioner pointed to issues such as relocation of underground utilities, traffic management and public inconvenience. She warned that delays or lapses in quality would invite strict action, including possible blacklisting of contractors.

Emphasising safety following an earlier construction-related fatality involving a police officer, officials have been directed to enforce safety protocols and carry out night-time work wherever feasible to minimise traffic disruption.

The administration expressed confidence that the flyover will be completed within six months, helping ease congestion in one of Hubballi’s busiest commercial corridors.
