ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has played a pivotal role in the construction of India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge, the Anji Khad bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, by supplying approximately 7,000 metric tonnes of flat steel. The bridge connects the Katra and Reasi sections of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), a key project enhancing connectivity in the region.

Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice President, Sales & Marketing at AM/NS India, expressed pride in contributing to this landmark project. “It is an honor to support nation-building with steel from our Hazira plant, crafted to meet the precise specifications of this engineering marvel,” Dhar stated. The Hazira plant’s fabrication shop fulfilled nearly the entire steel requirement for the project, demonstrating the company’s commitment to quality and innovation.

In addition to the Anji Khad bridge, AM/NS India has significantly contributed to the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest rail bridge, supplying over 70% of the required flat steel. These contributions underscore the company’s expertise and dedication to advancing India’s infrastructure development.
