Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Gurugram Metro project along with seven to eight other projects virtually. Among them is the AIIMS Rewari at Majra Bhalkhi village.
The Gurugram Metro project has been a longstanding demand for the city, finally approved in June last year. The 26.65 km extension from Huda City Metro station to Cyber Hub, covering the old Gurugram, is estimated to cost Rs 5,452 crore. Gurugram Metro Rail Ltd, a joint venture of the Haryana and Central governments, will oversee the project.
Simultaneously, the AIIMS Rewari project, costing around ₹1,231 crore and spanning 210 acres, will be inaugurated. This marks the twenty-second AIIMS in India, as announced in Budget 2019-20.
