The Hanging Garden Bridge Dubai

The Dubai creek is a spectacular jewel as well as a very important resource of the city. The RTA plans to connect the two banks of the creek with a ‘living bio footbridge’. Inspired by the ancient Hanging Garden of Babylon, The Hanging Garden Bridge or the Dubai Sky Bridge will become another landmark beauty in Dubai.

This botanical footbridge has been designed by Hong Kong-based architectural firm LWK & Partners. During a visit to the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) in April 2019, the project was approved by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.

Standing at 60 meters high, this sky bridge will have a spectacular panoramic view of old and new Dubai. Spanning at 3,422 square meters with 380 meters in length, the bridge will have multiple level lanes for running and cycling tracks to encourage activities. A sky garden and sunset promenade will provide green shade for the nature watchers. There will be shops and restaurants for the visitors as well on this hanging oasis.

The footbridge will link several of the city’s landmarks along the shores of Dubai Creek. The bio footbridge will connect the Al Seef area to the Deira side towards the Union Square. This iconic sky bridge will not just become yet another tourist attraction in the city of Dubai but also make its mark on the world map as an architectural marvel of the modern world.
