Adani Eyes Data Centre Deals with Meta, Google in $100Bn AI Infrastructure Push

India’s digital infrastructure story is entering a new phase, with Gautam Adani exploring partnerships with global tech players like Meta and Google to scale the Adani Group’s data centre ambitions. Flipkart is also reportedly in early discussions, as the group evaluates multiple locations across India.

At the centre of this push is a $100 billion plan to build AI-ready, renewable-powered data centres, positioning the group as a backbone provider of land, energy, and infrastructure for hyperscale facilities. While talks are still preliminary, the move underscores growing competition in building the physical layer that supports AI and cloud ecosystems.

The initiative builds on AdaniConnex, which currently holds around 2GW capacity, with plans to scale up to 5GW. The larger vision goes beyond data storage, moving towards an integrated ecosystem combining clean energy, transmission, and high-density computing.

Adani has described this as part of a broader “Intelligence Revolution,” where infrastructure will define technological leadership. If realised, the investment could trigger a wider $250 billion ecosystem spanning manufacturing, power systems, and digital platforms.

For India, the shift is clear. Data centres are no longer just facilities. They are fast becoming strategic infrastructure.
