Nagpur Metro’s Phase 2 expansion is moving forward swiftly, with the Kamptee corridor leading construction efforts. Stretching 13 km with 12 stations, it is the most station-dense and second-longest segment in the 43.8 km project. The viaducts have now extended beyond Khairi, nearing Kamptee, with the final stretch to Kanhan remaining.

Metro officials have commenced work on 14 of the 32 planned stations across all four reaches of Phase 2. Civil tenders worth Rs 3,312.70 crore have been awarded, while additional tenders worth Rs 219.33 crore, including track works and infrastructure, are awaiting final approval.

Land acquisition for Phase 2 is 80% complete, with the remaining landowners providing consent. Progress is also visible on the Mihan-Butibori and Hingna corridors, supported by three operational casting yards producing critical construction segments.

The Rs 6,708 crore project, funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and government equity contributions, aims to enhance connectivity between Nagpur’s peripheral and core areas. The entire network is expected to be operational by December 2027.
