Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Jaipur marked a transformative moment for Rajasthan’s infrastructure development. During his visit, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC)-Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) and inaugurated several large-scale infrastructure initiatives worth Rs 46,000 crore. These projects spanned critical sectors such as solar energy, power grids, railways, and national highways, aiming to strengthen the state’s economic and industrial framework.
The PKC-ERCP project was a centerpiece of the visit, designed to provide a reliable water supply for agriculture, industries, and drinking purposes across 21 districts of Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, and Alwar. The project, implemented in two phases, involves constructing barrages, canals, and pumping stations. The first phase, slated for completion within four years, focuses on channeling water from the Naunehra barrage to Bisoolpur and Isarda through a robust canal network.
Additionally, tenders worth Rs 58,000 crore were released, further accelerating infrastructure investments in the state. These initiatives are expected to upgrade Rajasthan’s connectivity, energy production, and water resource management significantly, laying a strong foundation for long-term growth and sustainability.
PM Modi’s focus on infrastructure underscored the government’s commitment to addressing the state’s critical challenges while fostering economic opportunities and regional development. These projects are set to transform Rajasthan’s landscape, ensuring better connectivity, resource availability, and industrial growth for its residents.
