Punjab Genco, a subsidiary of the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), has released a tender for the design, manufacturing, supply, erection, and testing of two 4 MW solar power projects in Bathinda District. The contract also includes operations and maintenance (O&M) for five years. Bids are due by December 18, 2024, with openings on December 19, 2024. Bidders must pay a tender fee of Rs 10,000 and a bid earnest money deposit of Rs 1 million through e-banking or e-payment.
Each project also requires a bank guarantee of Rs 3 million. O&M services will involve supplying mandatory spare parts, performing repairs or replacements of defective equipment, and installing a minimum of 5 MW DC capacity. Bidders can provide additional DC capacity to account for site-specific losses and ensure guaranteed generation.
This tender is part of Punjab’s ongoing efforts to increase its renewable energy capacity and meet its clean energy targets. The projects are expected to contribute significantly to the state’s energy mix, enhancing its reliance on solar power while supporting sustainable development goals. The success of these projects could also pave the way for more similar initiatives across the region.
