Hindustan Petroleum Corporation’s subsidiary, HPCL Renewable and Green Energy (HPRGEL), has launched a tender for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of 105 MW solar projects in Maharashtra. The projects will be connected to the state transmission utility, and bids are due by November 27, 2024. The selected bidders must complete the projects within 11 months of receiving the award letter.
Bidders are required to provide a land area of at least 3 acres per MW for the solar power plants, with land leases set for 27 years. Bidders must have experience commissioning at least 10 MW of solar projects in India over the past decade, along with an average annual turnover of Rs 133 million ($1.57 million). Additionally, only solar modules listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s approved list can be used for the projects.
This tender follows HPRGEL’s earlier call for bids in June 2024, which sought proposals for land acquisition and electrical high voltage (EHV) transmission system packages for 600 MW of solar power projects. These projects are spread across multiple states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The 600 MW initiative is part of HPCL’s broader commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and advancing India’s transition to a cleaner energy future. The successful completion of these projects will significantly contribute to the country’s renewable energy goals and support HPCL’s sustainable growth strategy.
