The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has relocated the Hosakerehalli Metro station 18 feet from its original planned position. This adjustment addresses concerns raised by PES University, which opposed the initial plan due to potential disruptions for students. The university had warned that the original location would necessitate shutting their entrance, prompting the BMRCL to reconsider the station’s placement.
The shift places the station entry/exit 18 feet towards the Mysuru Road end, as confirmed by a senior BMRCL official. The overall land requirement remains at 720 square meters. This change aligns with the Centre’s recent approval of the 44.65-km Phase-3 project, a ₹15,611-crore venture featuring elevated corridors along the Outer Ring Road and Magadi Road.
BMRCL’s decision reflects its commitment to addressing stakeholder concerns while advancing the metro project. The revised station location is expected to minimize disruption to the university and facilitate smoother integration with the ongoing metro expansion. The project aims to enhance connectivity and reduce congestion in Bengaluru, contributing significantly to the city’s transport infrastructure.
