Rahee Infratech has started casting ballastless tracks for Mumbai Metro Line-9, marking a key milestone in the 11.38 km extension connecting Dahisar East to Mira Bhayandar with eight elevated stations. The track work, part of Package CA-167, involves installing standard gauge rails (1435 mm) on the northern extension of the new 31.05 km Red Line. This line will eventually link Mira Bhayandar, Dahisar East, Andheri East, and CSMIA Terminal 2 through 23 stations.

The elevated section of Line-9, constructed by J Kumar Infraprojects under civil Package CA-48, began in March 2020. The first U-girder for the viaduct, which includes several double-decker sections, was launched in April 2021.

Rahee Infratech was awarded the ₹778.5 million contract for track work by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in March 2024. The project is set to be completed within 1.5 years. Leena Powertech Engineers won the electrification contract (CA-176) for Line-7A and Line-9 in July.

Once operational, the Red Line extensions are expected to significantly enhance Mumbai’s transit network, reducing travel times and improving connectivity across the city. The project highlights the ongoing efforts to expand and modernize Mumbai’s metro system, contributing to the city’s growing infrastructure and public transport efficiency.
