The Rajasthan government plans to extend the Jaipur Metro network in Phase-II, connecting residential areas, the airport, and industrial and commercial zones. Work on this expansion is expected to start soon, with the state budget for 2024-25 reflecting the commitment to accelerate the project.

Currently, Metro Phase-1 covers approximately 11 km, while Phase-II aims to expand to new industrial and institutional areas, Jaipur airport, and large residential neighborhoods. The updated detailed project report (DPR) for Phase-II will include a new traffic study for 61 km of routes, including a 30-km stretch from Ambabari to Sitapura and a 10-km stretch from Ambabari to Vidyadhar Nagar.

Plans also include potential extensions from Sitapura to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) and a new 3 km route connecting the old walled city to Phase-II. Additionally, the expansion will connect Badi Chaupad station from Phase-1 to Phase-II near Ramniwas Bagh and explore linking Agra Road to both phases via a 3 km route from Transport Nagar to Sanganeri Gate through Ghatgate.
