Vijayawada MP Sivanath, also known as Chinni, announced on Saturday at NTR Bhavan that under the Amrit Bharat station scheme, 76 railway stations in the state will be developed, and several new flight services will be launched from Gannavaram Airport to enhance air connectivity.
Addressing media personnel, he highlighted several projects being undertaken by the Telugu Desam government to develop the capital area. These include the development of the Amaravati railway station, the inauguration of the west bypass road, the construction of a new terminal at Gannavaram Airport, and the commencement of new air services to various cities.
During the recent parliament session, MP Chinni discussed the development of Gannavaram Airport and the need for new flight services with Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu. He revealed that the construction of the new terminal at Gannavaram Airport is set to begin within a year. Upcoming flight services will include connections to Varanasi (via Vizag), Cochin (via Hyderabad), Coimbatore (via Chennai), and Kolkata (via Vizag), with Air India and IndiGo soon offering flights to Ahmedabad and Pune.
MP Chinni also noted that the West Bypass road project will commence in five to six months, with connecting and radial roads being constructed from Gannavaram to Amaravati to alleviate traffic. Additionally, Union Road Transportation and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has directed NHAI officials to submit a DPR for a six-kilometer flyover between Mahanadu Junction and Nidamanuru. The East Bypass project is also expected to receive approval from Niti Aayog soon.
Chinni emphasized that while the Telugu Desam government is committed to implementing the Super Six schemes, the financial situation of the state makes it impossible to execute all the schemes immediately. He assured that a plan is in place to roll out the schemes over the next five to six months.
