Juniper Green Energy announced on Wednesday that it has entered into power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The company secured a PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a standalone 90 MW wind project under wind phase VI in Gujarat. This project aims to generate approximately 293 million units (MUs) of electricity annually, offsetting around 266,002 tonnes of CO2 emissions and providing power to 56,539 households in Gujarat.
Additionally, Juniper Green Energy signed another PPA with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under hybrid tranche VII for a 150 MW wind-solar hybrid power project spanning Gujarat and Rajasthan. This hybrid project is expected to generate about 477 MUs of electricity annually, offsetting 445,796 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year and supporting electricity access for approximately 95,079 households.
Naresh Mansukhani, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, emphasized that their partnership with SECI and GUVNL on these projects reflects their commitment to integrating wind and solar energy synergies. He highlighted that these initiatives underscore their dedication to delivering reliable and environmentally responsible green energy solutions, aiming to contribute significantly to sustainable energy development in India.
