Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) has invited bids for the construction of a Metro viaduct and a six-lane elevated road along the Ramwadi–Wagholi corridor, marking a key step in Pune Metro’s Phase-2 expansion. The two projects will be executed together to streamline construction and minimise disruption on Nagar Road.
The Ramwadi–Wagholi line spans 11.6 km with 11 stations. In the first phase, Maha Metro plans a 4.8 km viaduct from Ramwadi to Tuljabhavani Chowk, covering four stations, Vimannagar, Somnathnagar, Kharadi Bypass and Tuljabhavani, along with a 4.7 km elevated road and associated ramps. The six-lane elevated road is proposed to extend up to Shikrapur.
The work is expected to be completed within 42 months from commencement. Sanctioned in June 2025, the project is estimated at ₹3,626.2 crore. Maha Metro officials said groundwork will begin after technical clearances and a pre-bid process. At the same time, commuters have urged authorities to adhere strictly to timelines to ease persistent congestion on the corridor.
