JSW Steel Limited has reported a robust increase in its crude steel production, with consolidated output rising to 24.95 lakh tonnes in October, reflecting a nine per cent year on year growth. The performance demonstrates the company’s continued strength in production efficiency and market demand, supported by steady consumption in construction and infrastructure segments.
Within its overall operations, JSW Steel’s Indian facilities contributed 24.12 lakh tonnes of crude steel, marking a rise of about ten per cent compared to 21.99 lakh tonnes produced during the same period last year. This consistent growth reinforces the company’s position as one of India’s leading steel producers, with expanding capacity and improving operational capabilities across its integrated plants.
The company’s capacity utilisation for the month stood at approximately 83 per cent across Indian operations. This figure was slightly below the optimal level due to a temporary shutdown of one of the blast furnaces at the Vijayanagar plant for maintenance. Despite the brief disruption, production levels remained strong, reflecting the company’s resilience and efficient management of plant operations.
Industry analysts view JSW Steel’s latest performance as a positive indicator of sustained steel demand in India’s industrial and infrastructure sectors. The company’s expansion strategy, coupled with its focus on producing value added steel grades, continues to align with the broader national goal of enhancing domestic manufacturing and reducing import dependence.
