The Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City (ZISC) in Telangana is set to enter its execution phase, with large-scale infrastructure development scheduled to commence soon. Envisioned as a modern industrial and urban hub, the project carries an estimated investment of ₹15,000 crore and aims to transform the region into a key driver of economic growth.
Once operational, the ZISC is expected to generate close to 200,000 jobs, creating opportunities across manufacturing, services, logistics, and allied sectors. The development is designed to integrate industrial, residential, commercial, and green spaces, offering a balanced ecosystem for businesses and communities.
Phase I of the project will span 3,245 acres and will include the establishment of core industrial infrastructure, internal road networks, water and power supply systems, and common facilities for industries. Alongside industrial zones, the plan incorporates residential clusters, commercial complexes, and landscaped green areas to promote a sustainable urban environment.
The tendering process for design, construction, and long-term maintenance is underway, with finalisation targeted by October 2025. Construction timelines indicate that the first phase could be completed within 18 months of commencement, paving the way for industrial units to set up operations.
The project is positioned to attract both domestic and global investors, leveraging Telangana’s strategic location, skilled workforce, and policy support. It is also expected to boost demand for construction materials, including steel, cement, and other infrastructure-related inputs, thereby providing a ripple effect across multiple sectors.
Planned as a state-of-the-art smart city, ZISC will integrate digital infrastructure, efficient utilities, and environmental safeguards, positioning it as a benchmark for industrial development in the region.
