The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has initiated the bidding process for the development of 500 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects under Tranche XIX. The bid submission deadline is March 17, 2025, and bids will be opened on March 20. To participate, bidders must pay a Rs 50,000 document fee, Rs 20,000 bid processing fee per MW, and an earnest money deposit of Rs 942,000 per MW.
Successful bidders will be required to submit a performance bank guarantee of Rs 2.35 million per MW and a success charge of Rs 100,000 per MW to cover administrative costs. A payment security mechanism charge of Rs 0.02 per KWh will also be due to SECI. Bidders must use only commercially proven technologies and modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers, ensuring timely power supply.
Eligibility criteria include a minimum net worth of Rs 9.42 million per MW of quoted capacity, an annual turnover of Rs 4.53 million per MW over the last three years, and an internal resource generation capability of Rs 906,050 per MW. Bidders must also provide an in-principle sanction letter for a line of credit of at least Rs 1.13 million per MW.
In SECI’s previous Tranche XVIII auction, major companies such as ReNew Solar Power, ACME Solar Holdings, and Adani Renewable Energy Holdings Twelve secured contracts for 1,000 MW of solar power projects.
