The Sonipat-Delhi Metro project, part of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4, is advancing rapidly with a scheduled completion date of 2028. The project will span 26.5 km, connecting Sonipat with Delhi, and will feature 21 stations, including key stops at Kundli and Nathupur. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve travel convenience for around 50,000 daily commuters. The metro system is expected to create economic opportunities for Sonipat and its residents, helping the area grow socially and commercially.

The Rs 6,230 crore project will be jointly funded by the central and state governments, with 80% of the costs covered by Haryana and the remaining 20% from the central government. The metro corridor will start at Rithala in Delhi, passing through areas like Rohini, Bawana, and Narela, and ending at Nathupur. Currently, the project is tackling challenges such as land acquisition and relocation of utilities, but officials are working hard to keep the timeline intact.

Once completed, the metro will provide smoother and more efficient access to surrounding areas like Bawana, Narela, and Najafgarh. In addition to improved connectivity, the project is designed to contribute to a cleaner environment by reducing road congestion and pollution levels. The completion of this metro corridor will help Sonipat emerge as a major urban hub, with better infrastructure and enhanced regional integration.
