The Madhya Pradesh government has sanctioned 292 acres of land for the development of a new airport in Shivpuri. This approval, granted during a state cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, marks a significant step in expanding the state’s aviation infrastructure.

Currently, Shivpuri has an airstrip, which will now be upgraded into a full-fledged airport under the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The upcoming airport will accommodate aircraft like the ATR-72, improving connectivity and boosting regional development.

Union Minister and Guna-Shivpuri MP Jyotiraditya Scindia welcomed the decision and expressed gratitude to the state government. He also highlighted previous approvals for airports in Guna and Shivpuri during his tenure as Civil Aviation Minister.

The new airport is expected to enhance tourism and economic growth in the region, further strengthening Madhya Pradesh’s air transport network.
