The Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, recently inaugurated the upgradation of the Assam Electronics and Semiconductor Logistics Park located in Jagiroad. Spanning over 600 bighas, the park is set to become a major hub for the electronics and semiconductor industries, contributing significantly to the state’s economic development.
During the inauguration, CM Sarma highlighted the park’s potential to enhance industrial activities and create a robust ecosystem that supports various sectors. The park’s expansion plans include the establishment of essential facilities, such as Kendriya Vidyalayas for employees’ families, healthcare infrastructure, and a 5-star hotel for business visitors.
The Chief Minister underscored that the upgraded park will attract more industries, generate employment, and bolster Assam’s presence in the global electronics and semiconductor markets. With modern infrastructure, the park is poised to become a self-sustained industrial centre, catering to both national and international needs.
Earlier in the month, CM Sarma met with stakeholders to explore opportunities in areas like renewable energy, semiconductors, and support for small and medium businesses. He emphasised the potential collaboration with South Korea in building a strong semiconductor ecosystem in Assam, offering global companies the chance to invest with government support.
