The Telangana government is planning a significant expansion of Hyderabad’s metro network to better serve residents in the northern parts of the city. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for two new metro corridors under Phase-2B of the metro project.
The proposed expansions include extending the metro line from Paradise to Medchal and from Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to Shamirpet. These additions aim to improve urban transit infrastructure and tackle the rising traffic congestion in North Hyderabad.
The DPRs are expected to be completed swiftly and submitted to the central government for approval. This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to offering efficient and sustainable public transportation options for Hyderabad’s growing population.Updates on project timelines and progress will follow once the DPRs are finalized and approved.
