The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the Rs 284.05 billion Hebbal-Sarjapur metro corridor under the Phase 3A project. This 37-kilometre corridor is set to enhance connectivity between two key locations in Bengaluru: Sarjapur and Hebbal. The route will pass through several important areas, including the city’s Central Business District (CBD) and Koramangala, making it a vital addition to Bengaluru’s metro network.
The Phase 3A project spans a total of 36.59 km, with the new line designed to ease congestion and improve transportation in one of the city’s busiest regions. This project aims to significantly reduce travel times and promote sustainable urban mobility, further integrating Bengaluru’s growing metro system. The Hebbal-Sarjapur corridor is expected to provide better accessibility to various residential, commercial, and industrial hubs.
Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs, H.K. Patil, confirmed that the Cabinet had sanctioned the Phase 3A metro project, which marks an important step towards expanding Bengaluru’s metro infrastructure.
