The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation (RREC) has issued a tender for the development of 282 MW of rooftop solar capacity across government buildings in the state. This initiative is part of Rajasthan’s commitment to advancing clean energy solutions and supporting India’s renewable energy goals.
The projects must be completed within 12 months from the date of receiving the letter of award. In addition to installation, the successful bidders will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the solar systems for the next 25 years. This long-term responsibility ensures the sustainability and efficiency of the projects over time.
The tender outlines specific financial and technical criteria for bidders. These include an earnest money deposit (EMD), a performance bank guarantee (PBG), and prior experience in executing similar grid-connected solar projects. Bidders must demonstrate a minimum capacity of 5 kW in previous solar installations to qualify.
These rooftop solar projects aim to contribute to India’s transition to renewable energy by harnessing solar power from government buildings. The development of such projects supports the country’s broader clean energy agenda and helps reduce dependency on traditional power sources.
