JSW Energy has recently secured a major contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 230 MW of renewable energy. This contract was awarded to JSW Neo Energy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy, through a tariff-based bidding process. SECI had invited bids for 630 MW of firm and dispatchable power from interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected renewable energy projects under the SECI-FDRE-IV initiative.
With this new contract, JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity has increased to 16.4 GW. This includes 2.3 GW of hybrid and firm dispatchable renewable energy. Currently, the company’s total generation capacity stands at 7.5 GW. JSW Energy has set an ambitious target to expand its generation capacity to 10 GW by FY25.
The addition of this 230 MW contract further strengthens JSW Energy’s position in the renewable energy sector, contributing to its broader strategy of increasing its footprint in the clean energy market. This development aligns with the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance its renewable energy portfolio and support India’s transition to a more sustainable energy future.
