The Bikaner Division of North Western Railway has announced an invitation for bids to install 2,068 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems on residential buildings. The project, valued at Rs 90.94 million, requires bidders to submit their proposals by August 12, 2024, with the opening of bids scheduled for the same day.

To participate, bidders must provide an earnest money deposit of Rs 604,700 million. The successful contractor will be expected to complete the installation within four months of receiving the work order. The scope of work includes the supply, installation, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems, incorporating mono crystalline panels, inverters, MS hot-dipped galvanized structures, power conditioning units, junction boxes, AC and DC distribution boards, armored power and control cables, a remote data monitoring system, and net metering.

Eligibility criteria require bidders to have experience in similar projects within the past seven years. Specifically, they must have completed either three projects, each costing at least 30% of the contract value, or two projects costing at least 40%, or one project costing no less than 60% of the contract value. “Similar work” is defined as the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems, whether grid-connected or off-grid, with or without battery backup, intended for general use or street lighting.
