The government of Odisha has granted approval to nine industrial projects with a combined investment of Rs 1,01,804 crore. These projects are expected to generate employment opportunities for more than 28,000 individuals. The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, sanctioned these investment proposals during its recent meeting.
These ventures will be established in various districts, including Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Khurda, Paradeep, Bhadrak, Ganjam, and Koraput. In the steel sector, the government has given the green light to JSW Utkal Steel Limited’s plan to expand the capacity of its proposed integrated steel plant in Jatadhar, Jagatsinghpur district, from 12 MTPA to 24 MTPA, involving an investment of Rs 75,000 crore.
Furthermore, the HLCA has approved Jindal Ferrous Limited’s proposal to construct a 2.35 MTPA carbon steel plant in Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur district, with an investment of Rs 3,449 crore. Additionally, the state government has granted approval to MSP Metallics Ltd’s investment plan of Rs 1,500 crore to enhance its facility in Marakuta, Jharsuguda.
In the green energy equipment and Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sector, Avaada Electro Pvt Ltd has received approval for its Rs 11,300 crore project to establish a manufacturing facility for ingots, wafers, solar cells, and modules in Haldiapada, Khordha district.
L&T Energy Green Tech Ltd’s proposal to establish a green ammonia plant in Paradeep, Jagatsinghpur district, with an investment of Rs 1,030 crore, has also been approved. Similarly, Berger Paints India Ltd’s proposal to establish a manufacturing unit worth Rs 1,458 crore in Khordha has received panel approval.
As part of the decisions made during the meeting, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd will establish a polyester products manufacturing unit in the Textile Park at Bhandaripokhari, Bhadrak district, with an investment of Rs 4,377 crore. Additionally, Petronet LNG Limited will construct an LNG terminal with a capacity of 40 lakh MT in Gopalpur, Ganjam district, with an investment commitment of Rs 2,306 crore.
