L&T Secures Landmark JSW Steel Order, Its Largest in Metals Segment

Larsen & Toubro has secured its largest-ever domestic order in the metals and minerals segment, with JSW Steel awarding a contract valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore. The scope covers engineering, procurement, and construction across greenfield expansions at Ballari, Karnataka, and Paradip, Odisha, encompassing blast furnaces and steel melt shops.

L&T’s minerals and metals vertical will lead execution across both sites, drawing on a three-decade association with JSW Steel centred on complex metallurgical projects. The win adds significant depth to L&T’s order pipeline, which reported Q4 FY26 revenues of ₹82,762 crore, up 11 per cent year-on-year, backed by strong execution momentum.

The order aligns with India’s stated target of achieving 300 million tonnes of steel production capacity by 2030, with large-scale EPC mandates of this scale serving as a reliable indicator of the sector’s investment trajectory.
