Steel Fabrication Training under PACES launched

A weeklong steel fabrication training programme under the PACES initiative has been launched in Wokha, Nagaland, to build grassroots skills and boost employability.

Organised by the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland, the programme aims to equip local youth with practical, income-generating capabilities. A total of 25 trainees from Humtso, Elumyo and Wokha Village have been selected for the first batch.

Representatives from Zynorique Initiative Society, the implementing partner, highlighted rising demand for fabrication skills in construction and local manufacturing.

Addressing the inaugural session, SDO (Civil) Echungbemo Eru emphasised the importance of skill-based livelihoods, noting that such initiatives create sustainable opportunities at the grassroots level. District Employment Officer Ekonthung Ezung encouraged participants to actively engage, citing steel fabrication as a promising trade amid ongoing infrastructure development.
