The Ministry of Railways has approved two key infrastructure projects—the Kosamba Rail Over-Rail (RoR) flyover in Gujarat and the Bhagalpur bypass in Bihar, with a combined investment of ₹647 crore, aimed at strengthening rail connectivity and easing congestion.
The 9 km Kosamba RoR flyover, estimated at ₹344 crore, will provide seamless integration of the Kosamba–Umrapada gauge conversion section with the Mumbai–Vadodara main line. By eliminating surface crossings, the project is expected to enhance safety and enable uninterrupted train movement on this critical corridor.
In Bihar, the 13 km Bhagalpur bypass project, with an estimated cost of ₹303 crore, will link Gonu Dham Halt on the Barahat–Bhagalpur section with Sabour on the Bhagalpur–Sahibganj route. The bypass is designed to decongest Bhagalpur Junction and streamline operations across the network.
Together, the projects reflect a continued push towards capacity augmentation, operational efficiency and safer rail infrastructure across high-traffic routes.
