Niti Aayog is working closely with the Highways Ministry and National Highways Logistics Management Limited to revise the Model Concession Agreement for multimodal logistics parks, with the objective of enhancing the biddability, viability, and bankability of such projects, as outlined in its Annual Report 2025–26.
The Aayog has also engaged with the Railways Ministry on project structures and bid documents for the brownfield redevelopment of railway stations in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, projects that have since received in-principle approval and entered the bidding stage. The redevelopment framework incorporates commercial area development alongside station upgrades to maximise revenue potential from allocated land parcels.
In a separate initiative, Niti Aayog has developed a concept paper for integrated sports stadiums under a PPP framework on a Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer basis, targeting multi-use facilities aligned with international standards through private sector participation.
Across all three initiatives, the Aayog’s role reflects a broader effort to standardise and strengthen concession frameworks, reducing project uncertainty while improving private sector confidence in India’s infrastructure pipeline.
