Road Over Bridge Approved At Deendayal Port To Improve Cargo Flow

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has approved the construction of a road over bridge at LC-235 at Deendayal Port Authority. The project, estimated at Rs 1,325.1 million, is part of the Sagarmala Programme and aligned with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.

The proposal was appraised by the Delegated Investment Board to ensure adherence to modern safety and technical standards. The project will be executed by Western Railway.

The planned road over bridge is expected to eliminate delays caused by rail crossings, facilitating smoother and uninterrupted cargo movement. This will help reduce congestion, accelerate cargo evacuation, and improve overall operational efficiency at the port.

The initiative is in line with ongoing efforts to strengthen port connectivity and streamline logistics under integrated infrastructure planning frameworks.
