UP govt, Japan External Trade Organisation hold talks; MSME park proposed near Noida Airport

The Uttar Pradesh government, through the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), has held discussions with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) to explore setting up a dedicated Japanese MSME park near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The talks focused on positioning the Yamuna Expressway region as a preferred manufacturing destination for Japanese small and medium enterprises.

YEIDA highlighted the region’s strategic advantages, including multi-modal connectivity anchored by the airport, proximity to the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, and access to freight infrastructure. Availability of developed industrial land, competitive pricing and the state’s single-window clearance system were presented as key enablers for foreign investment.

Sector-specific opportunities across medical devices, electronics, textiles and apparel, and the proposed Film City were also discussed. With nearly 1,400 Japanese MSMEs exploring manufacturing options in India, the proposed park aims to offer a plug-and-play ecosystem tailored to their needs. Both sides are considering a memorandum of understanding to formalise long-term cooperation and investment engagement.
