The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is planning to develop a new industrial belt of around 250 hectares near Nagda in Ujjain district, as part of efforts to expand organised industrial infrastructure in western Madhya Pradesh. Land identification and preliminary planning for the proposed industrial park are currently underway.
The new belt is expected to ease congestion in existing industrial estates while providing fresh options for medium and large-sized manufacturing units. Officials said the project will strengthen Ujjain’s industrial ecosystem, attract new investments and support large-scale employment generation.
The proposed development will add to Ujjain’s expanding industrial landscape, complementing established clusters such as Vikram Udyogpuri, the Medical Device Park and several smaller industrial estates that continue to see steady investor interest. Over the past two years, the Ujjain division has attracted investments of ₹38,506 crore, highlighting the region’s growing industrial momentum, strengthening manufacturing base and strong potential for long-term employment generation.
