Odisha Clears ₹55,783 Cr Investments; Mega Steel Plant in Dhenkanal Leads

Odisha has approved industrial investments worth ₹55,783 crore, led by a ₹35,000-crore mega steel plant in Dhenkanal, at the 43rd meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The seven approved projects are expected to generate 14,507 jobs across multiple districts.

The largest proposal comes from Saffron Resources Pvt Ltd of the JSW Group, which will set up a 6 MTPA steel plant in Dhenkanal, creating around 8,000 jobs and reinforcing Odisha’s status as a major steel hub.

Other key approvals include a ₹12,000-crore titanium dioxide pigment plant by Jindal Poly Films in Ganjam, a ₹1,649.98-crore semiconductor OSAT facility in Khordha, and a ₹2,000-crore ferroalloys project in Keonjhar. Investments were also made in automobiles, industrial gases and power.

The approvals underline Odisha’s push for diversified, decentralised and investor-friendly industrial growth aligned with its long-term development vision.
