The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has approved the establishment of the AP Logistics Infrastructure Corporation to bring all logistics-related activities under a single umbrella and reduce rising logistics costs. The move will focus on developing roads, inland waterways and sea transport through the AP Maritime Board.
In a boost to MSMEs, the Cabinet cleared the AP Cluster Development Programme (AP-CDP) with an outlay of ₹200 crore. The scheme aims to set up 45 Common Facility Centres in MSME parks over five years, generating around 7,500 jobs, with priority for rural areas and women, SC and ST entrepreneurs.
The Cabinet also approved renaming the captive port at DL Puram in Anakapalli district as AMNS Ports Rajayyapeta Pvt Ltd, an SPV of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel. Key financial and welfare decisions included withdrawal of additional retail excise tax on bars, government guarantees for infrastructure funding, approvals for school kits, judicial academy construction, and new educational institutions. The Chief Minister stressed strengthening inland and coastal water transport to improve logistics competitiveness.
