Noida International Airport Set to Open, Second Major Gateway for Delhi NCR

The Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar district, western Uttar Pradesh, is set to be inaugurated on October 30, with flight operations expected to commence approximately 45 days later, according to Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu. This new greenfield airport will serve as the second international gateway for the national capital region, complementing Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Strategically located around 75 kilometres from Delhi, the airport aims to significantly enhance air connectivity for the region and support the growing demand for both domestic and international travel. Designed to accommodate a large volume of passengers and cargo, the project is expected to decongest existing airport facilities in Delhi while promoting regional economic growth.

The development of the Noida International Airport has been closely aligned with broader infrastructure and urban development plans in western Uttar Pradesh. It is anticipated to create employment opportunities, stimulate investment in allied sectors, and attract international business and tourism to the region.

Industry experts note that the airport’s commissioning will improve air traffic management and provide an alternative hub for airlines operating in the Delhi NCR. Advanced facilities and modern terminal design are expected to offer passengers a seamless travel experience, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

The project also highlights the government’s commitment to expanding India’s civil aviation network and strengthening infrastructure in key economic corridors. With the airport becoming operational, Gautam Buddh Nagar and surrounding areas are likely to witness accelerated urbanisation, improved logistics, and enhanced connectivity for both people and goods.

The Noida International Airport is poised to become a critical infrastructure landmark for the region, reinforcing India’s position in global aviation and offering travellers and businesses a modern, world-class facility in close proximity to the national capital.
