The government has approved eight new Rail-Over-Rail (ROR) initiatives in the South-Central Railway zone, a move designed to ease congestion on routes leading to Hyderabad. With a combined investment of ₹6,584 crore, these projects are expected to significantly improve both freight and passenger rail operations across one of India’s busiest railway regions.

The ROR projects will create elevated corridors and bypass lines, allowing trains to move more efficiently without interfering with existing traffic. This is particularly vital for Hyderabad, a hub of economic and industrial activity, where smoother logistics and passenger services are key to sustaining growth.
