SAIL Bokaro Awards ₹23.57 Crore Infrastructure Contract to Vishnusurya Projects

Steel Authority of India Limited’s Bokaro Steel Plant has awarded a ₹23.57 crore infrastructure contract to Vishnusurya Projects & Infra Ltd. The contract, secured via Gorantla Geosynthetics Ltd., covers essential civil and structural works-namely, the replacement and construction of the Benzol Storage Unit, Benzol Recovery Plant‑2 (BRP‑2), Coke Oven (CO), and by‑Product Plant (BPP).

Set to be completed within a 12‑month time frame, this project highlights the critical role of environmental engineering within the steel industry’s ecosystem. As these units are integral to coke production and benzol recovery, the order marks a strategic infrastructure upgrade with long-term operational benefits.

Vishnusurya Projects’ CEO, V. Sanal Kumar, emphasised the company’s proven track record in delivering high‑quality, time‑bound industrial infrastructure. Despite raw‑material inflation and persistent market challenges, the firm has maintained “robust operational metrics” and strong client retention-a testament to its execution capabilities.

This contract also reinforces Vishnusurya’s presence in environmental engineering, particularly in its solid‑waste‑management segment linked to steel plant operations. As of March 2025, the company’s overall order book stood at approximately ₹330 crore, reflecting a healthy pipeline of ongoing projects.

The investment in benzol and coke-plant infrastructure at Bokaro reflects the ongoing modernization of steel manufacturing, aimed at improving efficiency and regulatory compliance. Performance-driven contracts like this highlight the rising demand for turnkey infrastructure solutions in heavy industry. Timely completion of the project is expected to strengthen operational stability and enhance overall process output at the Bokaro Steel Plant.
