Hedge5 Manufacturing Solutions Pvt Ltd has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Assam to invest Rs 500 crore in the development of renewable energy and compressed biogas (CBG) projects within the state. Signed on February 26, 2025, the MoU outlines two major initiatives that are expected to create 100 direct jobs and contribute to the state’s renewable energy infrastructure.

The first project involves the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 5 MW renewable power plant, which will integrate solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to ensure round-the-clock power generation.

This project is scheduled to begin operations by December 2025. The second project will establish five 5TPD CBG plants, with production expected to commence by January 2026.

The Government of Assam has pledged to assist in securing all necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances from the relevant authorities, in accordance with existing regulations. The MoU will remain valid for a period of 12 months unless extended by mutual agreement.

Chaitanyaram Joshi, Chief Operating Officer of Hedge5, signed the agreement on behalf of the company, while Dr. Krishna Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary of the Power (E) Department, signed on behalf of the Assam government.

This Rs 500 crore investment marks a significant step towards bolstering Assam’s renewable energy sector and creating new employment opportunities. Hedge5 will also submit the Common Application Form (CAF) through the Assam Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Portal to ensure that all statutory approvals are obtained before the commencement of construction and production.
