Jaipur-based Classic Signages has emerged as the winner of NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam’s (NVVN) auction for a 6.32 MW solar project, valued at Rs 214.69 million. The project includes 3.92 MW of rooftop and 2.4 MW of ground-mounted solar installations at NTPC’s Simhadri and Ramagundam stations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The installation will use high-efficiency 540 Wp modules from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers, boasting 20% efficiency and a five-year warranty. These modules are designed to maintain at least 90% of their peak watt capacity after ten years and 80% after 25 years, ensuring long-term performance.

In addition to this project, NVVN has been actively expanding its solar footprint. In 2024, it floated tenders for a 25.65 MW rooftop solar project across government buildings in Delhi and nearby states and a 4.73 MW rooftop project for the Bhakra Beas Management Board.

India’s solar sector has witnessed substantial growth, with solar power accounting for 21.2% of the nation’s total installed capacity and 46.8% of its renewable capacity by December 2024. The country added 16.4 GW of solar capacity in the first nine months of 2024, a 167% year-over-year surge driven by the commissioning of delayed projects.
